@One: Open and Equity-Minded Course Development In-Person

What barriers to success do students face? Cost is one barrier and Open Educational Resources (OER) help remove that barrier. OER also help equitize our classes by allowing faculty to personalize their teaching resources based on their students’ backgrounds, skills, and demographics. Open Educational Practices (OEP) takes this one step further by inviting students to become contributors to academia rather than just passive recipients. Open Pedagogy is based on the best practices of Universal Design and helps connect students who may feel excluded from the educational system. This webinar will begin with an overview of the current research on how OER and OEP improve student success. Then, we will focus on strategies for incorporating OER and OEP into our classes.
