Canvas Camp, Fall 2018 In-Person

Join us for a morning of training opportunities centered around Canvas.

8:30 am Portfolium

The goal of the Community College is, ultimately, to help students find jobs. Often a student’s resume does not provide the platform for the student to showcase their accomplishments. Are you looking for a way to help your students create a positive online presence, an interactive, compelling portfolio of their work, and a leg-up in the job hunt. Portfolium could be the answer. Find out if Portfolium is right for your students.

9:30 am Outcomes

What are the most important things a student should know, be able to do or demonstrate after completing your course? Assessing Student Learning Outcomes help educators better facilitate student learning. The Outcomes feature in Canvas allow faculty to track mastery in their course and make reporting a snap. The Outcomes feature in Canvas allows you to add outcomes to your grading rubrics so that you can evaluate mastery as you grade assignments. Discover how to use this valuable feature!

10:30 am A Course Design Rubric for All Content Types

The OEI Rubric is a tool for designing new courses, or for updating and improving existing courses. Join the team as we review each of the components of the rubric and how to apply them to your course. Please review the rubric prior to the course as you will be working in your course during the session.

11:30 am Canvas Curious?: How Canvas Can Help Face-to-Face Classes

Calling all face-to-face instructors who are curious about the Canvas learning management tool! This session will cover the ways Canvas can support your synchronous instruction saving you and your students time.
