Poverty Simulation and Discussion
Poverty is a reality for many individuals and families in the communities we serve. This simulation is an opportunity to experience poverty first-hand to create a deeper understanding of the challenges and issues faced by low-income families trying to survive month to month. Paulo Freire describes poverty as living in "the tyranny of the moment" and those are the moments you will experience in this simulation. The Community Action Poverty Simulation is an interactive immersion experience. It is a simulation, not a game, and will be followed by a discussion period.
